Hope Lives nonprofit association was founded in 2020 as the initiative of an individual in response to a request for help from a family supporting a child on the road to recovery.
Recognizing the urgent need for support for patients and their families, the organization quickly grew and expanded its activities to include a wide range of support services. Our goal is to enable patients and their families to live whole and healthy lives throughout treatment and recovery.
Currently, Hope Lives supports patients and their families by surrounding them with care and hope while providing comprehensive assistance in medical, emotional, and financial matters. This support is made possible by a dedicated team of top-tier volunteers and professionals, all working together to help patients recover as quickly as possible and see them on the path to health.
A cancer diagnosis in the family shakes the entire household, affecting both body and mind, and the road to recovery can be long and complex. To ease this journey, Hope Lives has established a comprehensive support network for patients in oncology wards and their families. Our services include emotional support, family assistance, meal provision, comfortable transportation to treatments, and more. We are here to ensure you do not have to face this journey alone.
The overarching goal of Hope Lives is to save lives. Sometimes, medical treatments, such as expensive surgeries that are not covered by the healthcare basket, can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, some In such cases, Hope Lives steps in to organize funding for surgeries and diagnostic tests based on medical recommendations, giving patients a chance at a healthier life. We fund tests for patients who do not respond to standard treatments, aiming to find personalized therapies based on genetic characteristics. Additionally, we provide para-medical treatments to strengthen the immune system, prevent deterioration, and support recovery.
Receiving a medical diagnosis or the need for treatment can be overwhelming and confusing. Our Medical Guidance and Consultation Department clarifies treatment options and supports decision-making in challenging times. The department functions on two levels: Initial Consultation – Support for individuals seeking recommendations for specialist physicians, medical centers, or initial steps. The team evaluates medical documents and offers personalized guidance. Comprehensive Support – Assistance with expediting appointments, understanding complex medical cases, and making decisions in challenging situations. The department collaborates with medical experts globally and thoroughly reviews each case to provide accurate and timely solutions.
Coping with cancer is a challenging journey, and some medications that can ease symptoms or improve the quality of life may cost tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars each month. The Expensive Medications Department at Hope Lives works tirelessly to ensure that patients, especially children, receive the necessary medications. The team reviews every request, and legal advisors assist in obtaining approvals from health funds or insurance companies. We also raise donations or approach pharmaceutical companies for funding. It is possible to establish a fund to solicit donations to cover the cost of the medication.
The journey to life-saving treatment can be both physically and financially exhausting. Hope Lives organizes and funds transportation and flights to ensure that children and their families can reach leading medical centers in Israel and around the world. Our support includes local hospital visits as well as international travel for specialized treatments, removing barriers and easing access to care.
